Root Canal Treatment (RTC)
In cases where there is decay deep into the tooth’s pulp or an injury that has damaged the tooth nerve system, a RCT involves several steps:
- Opening access to the tooth pulp chamber and root canal
- Cleaning, disinfecting and shaping the root canal thoroughly
- Filling the canal with root canal filling material
After the root canal treatment, the tooth needs to be restored with a basic direct filling. A crown will be applied to the tooth after the basic direct filling is finished and the tooth has no more symptoms.
